    They are originally one set, one jacket with long sleeves inside and the other with short sleeves outside. In this case, the long sleeves have pattern printed but without in the main body, and the short sleeves have the pattern all over the jacket.

    It is really a rare pattern among gold printed costumes. The main pattern for the long sleeves is qilin or deer on wave ground, but small square dot pattern for collar and sleeve cuffs. However, the patterns for the short one are more fascinating, small square dots for main body, two large patterns in triangle shape on both shoulders, and one large square pattern for the back. Both back and shoulder patterns are phoenixes among peony flowers. But small cloud patterns were also used for the edge of the outer jacket.

    The square decorative pattern on the back is a very typical style of xiongbei in Yuan dynasty, which is a very rare decorative badge from early period. (ZF)
