The dragon robe is the synonym for emperor, whose attire is made strictly according to formal codes. Starting from Emperor Qianlong (1736-1795), dragon robes must have the twelve symbols and the used color is bright yellow. This one however, is really rare due to its small size. It was evidently tailored specially for a child emperor. The dragon motifs are exquisitely worked with gold couching technique while polychrome silk threads are used for other patterns. (XY)
