CNSM, covering an area of nearly 50,000 m2, is a national museum specialized in the textile field mainly engaged in the collecting, displaying and conservation of 20,000 textiles (silk) relics from the Western Zhou Dynasty to modern times. Chinese Center for Textile Identification and Conservation(CCTIC) and Key Scientific Research Base of Textile Conservation of State Administration are also located at CNSM.
As the largest center for textilecollection, exhibition, conservation, research and education in China, CNSM aims to conserve Chinese traditional silkculture and contemporary apparel and textile fashion as well. For over 20 years, CNSM has initially formed arelatively complete collection system of textiles and clothing, including weaving andembroidery masterpieces, ancient clothing, modern clothing, clothing of ethnicminorities, and silk calligraphy and paintings.
But as a young museum CNSM still has a long way to go. In order to enrich the displays and upgrade the collections, your support and generous donations are vital and greatly appreciated. Donation certificates shall beawarded and displayed at the appropriate time.
