The exhibition, Dior by Dior (1947-1957) , focuses on Dior's 11-year career, displaying more than 100 haute couture pieces, accessories, fabrics, embroidered samples and design manuscripts, as well as print publications and images, in order to guide the audience back to the golden age of Haute couture with Mr. Duhot's fashion aesthetic. The exhibition is sponsored by China Silk Museum and the Royal Ontario Museum, and curated by Alexandra Palmer, fashion director.
On the evening of the 20th, the opening ceremony was held in the Fashion Gallery of NSM. Zhao Feng, director of NSM, and Alexandra Palmer, delivered speeches at the opening ceremony.
After the opening ceremony, MS. Palmer gave a talk entitled Christian Dior and New Women. Ms. Palmer combined her academic research on Dior's fashion history with her curatorial experience to provide a more in-depth historical and technical analysis of the exhibits in this exhibition.
The exhibition consists of seven parts: About Christine Dior, Atelier, Daytime, Afternoon and evening, Evening, Making Dior and Shopping Dior, will last until 5th January, 2020.
