The 15th (2017) promotion activity of top ten exhibitions of museum was sponsored by State Administration of Cultural Heritage, organized by Chinese Museums Association and Chinese Heritage Newspaper. On May 16, the final evaluation conference of this promotion activity was held at Shanghai History Museum. Zhou yang, the assistant curator attended the final comment as the curator. In “5•18 International Museum Day” China main venue, the top ten exhibitions were officially announced on May 18, 2018. The exhibition “New Knowledge On Ancient Roads: Silk Road Cultural Heritage Sci-tech Achievements” won the 15th national museum exhibition excellence award.

May 18th is International Museum Day. Every museum around the world will hold all kinds of publicity and commemorative activities to celebrate this exclusive festival in this day, let more people understand the museum, attract more groups to enter the museum, and better play the social functions of museum. In this May 18th, China National Silk Museum not only attended the opening ceremony of “International Museum Day”activity at Shanghai History Museum, but also participated in the first Yangtze River Delta Museum Education Expo on the theme of "Museums as an Access to Knowledge". In an area of nearly 1300 square meters, 36 museums from Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Anhui and Shanghai presented the contributions of museums to public education through unique design and exhibit selection.

As one of the exhibitors of the Expo, China National Silk Museum had the theme of "let the cultural relics live and make lives better". Through the illustrated exhibitions, wonderful videos and abundant exhibits, three social education brands "Silk Road Night", "Textile Training", "Silkworm Culture", and the planned social education project "Silk Road Journey" were introduced and displayed. Through showing the live silkworm rearing, the silk reeling and the loom operation, the technological process of silk production was displayed to the audience intuitively. On the first day, the colorful activities attracted many audiences.

In the afternoon, leaders such as Guan qiang, the deputy director of State Administration of Cultural Heritage, Luo jing, the inspector of Museum and Socual Relics Department and Cao Hong, the deputy director of the Cultural Heritage Bureau of Zhejiang Province, came to the booth of China National Silk Museum. They listened with great interest to the detailed introduction about the social education works of China National Silk Museum and gave full recognition to the social education activities that we had carried out based on our own characteristics.
