CNSM holds an expert’s consultation on “Figure File of Textile” on July 28th, attended by experts in textile industry, such as Xu Junliang, Qian Tongyuan, Liu Guanfeng, Ji Dongfeng, Shen Gan, etc.

China has a long history in mulberry and silk, giving birth to countless artisans and influential figures in the textile industry. CNSM is trying to collect books, texts, illustrated catalogs, audio and video materials which have historical value conserved by figures that make contributions to the textile industry and record what those figures have done with modern techniques.

After investigation, documents searching, and seniors consulting, especially under the help of the family members of Zhu Xinyu and Jiang Youlong, CNSM has collected materials of 87 figures till now.

The experts speak highly of the efforts CNSM has make, and provide valuable clues about the future work. Professor Shen Gan from Zhejiang Sci-Tech University donates the design patterns he collects.

CNSM will put them together in specific store counters for visitors to read. Some of ancient books will be computerized on account of protection.
