    This dress is hand painted on silk georgette and crepe using the detailed gongbi technique of traditional Chinese painting. Multi-layered washes and gradation are used to portray the peony flowers and supporting elements, creating pleasing visual effects evocative of the colors of spring. The sense of space,fluidity and structural simplicity of the dress reflects the essence of traditional Chinese costumes. Here, the story of spring is told by the refreshing flowers, growing stems and lush foliage, as if to remind us that life is beautiful. (XY)
