Chinese embroidery has a long history, beginning as early as four thousand years ago in clothing embroidery embellishment. Women in the farming community are the majority of artisans practicing embroidery, with many ancient embroidery masterpieces remaining, as part of important culturalheritage.
On the morning of May 17, in order to display the Chinese contemporary embroidery, a special exhibition “China the Beautiful: Treasures in Chinese Embroidery”, organized by CNSM and Wenzhou Museum, held its opening ceremony in CNSM. During theceremony, a master in Hang embroidery was invited as a special guest to perform. This exhibitionwill be open from May 17 to Sep. 1.
